Cartoonist Receives Death Threats Over “Learn to Speak Teabag”

The death threats keep coming this fine morning. I guess the Tea Party crew is determined to have “death panels” one way or another. The dustup started because of this cartoon:
“Learn to Speak Tea Bag” ran on my usual client sites, including NPR, which really set off the guys over here, here (note Condi giving child flowers down by “donate” button), here, here and here. Before you could say, “due to a pre-existing condition, your health coverage has been denied,” there was a full-fledged viral campaign by right-wing media outlets and blogs to jump, scream and shout about this animation

benefit of continuing a discussion even if you don’t agree. Too often these days, the Left and the Right immediately shut down if you are deemed to be from the opposing camp. Here’s to good discussion even if we don’t agree.

Now please don’t kill me

SillyMickel’s Comment:

As I Feared, watching Corporations and Republicans incite Tea-Baggers beginning in August, “There’ll be blood soon – they’ve called out KKK lynch mob types.”

Mickel Adzema says:

DEATH THREATS FOR FREE SPEECH.

Welcome to America, 2010, where tea-baggers spout Founding Fathers on liberty, rights, freedom of speech…and then roam the streets seeking to do violence and to murder those who disagree with them!?

DEATH THREATS FOR FREE SPEECH.

Welcome to America, 2010, where tea-baggers spout Founding Fathers on liberty, rights, freedom of speech…and then roam the streets seeking to do violence and to murder those who disagree with them!?

Death toll for Culture War so far (Unofficial; represents only a fraction of what made it into the light of news, which itself is only a fraction of that which no doubt is going on continually and no one knows or can calculate):

Karen Silkwood, John Kennedy, Jack Ruby, Lee Harvey Oswald, hundreds who witnessed the JFK assassination and disagreed with the Warren Commission Report, 60,000 US servicemen in Vietnam, millions of Vietnamese men, women, and children; Robert Kennedy, Martin Luther King, John Lennon, Abbie Hoffman, Paul Wellstone, Beverly Eckert of Stamford, Conn., whose husband Sean Rooney died in the 2001 attack and who advocated for further investigation just before her murder, hundreds who had first hand knowledge and evidence of 9-11 demolition and had evidence and proof that the official version of extreme heat taking down the towers was impossible for a multitude of reasons; hundreds of thousands of Iraqi men, women, and children; untold number of Pakistand and Afghani men, women, and children; doctors who performed abortions; liberal Denver talk show host, other liberal radio hosts, 45 thousand a year who die for lack of health insurance, 10s of thousands of servicemen and women who’ve died to protect the rights of these corporations to kill others who threaten their takeover of our Democracy to set up a Corporate State, controlled by a Shadow Government of the faceless Filthy Rich, with a veneer mask of a Christian Theocracy.
Total: unknown number of millions dead, easily in the 10s of millions — even making the recent Haitian horror pale, ONLY, by comparison.

Yea, I know what a lot of you are thinking:

“B.S. This couldn’t happen in America!”
– Keep thinking hat; that’s what they want you to think so they can continue unresisted.
“This is too wild, too unthinkable; at any rate it doesn’t affect me”
– Keep thinking that: As they said in Germany, “When they took the Jews, I didn’t speak out, for I was not a Jew. When they took the disabled, I didn’t…because I was not disabled. When they took..I didn’t speak out, for I was not….” When they took…I didn’t..I was not….” “Then they took me, and there was no one left to speak out.”
